International Air Transportation Competition Act of 1979

This act was passed by the US Congress in February 1980 whereby the 1978 Deregulation Act was basically exported on an international scale. The basic changes of the Act involve the granting of automatic antitrust immunity under Section 414 of the Federal Aviation Act to international carriers who file agreements pursuant to Section 412 of the Federal Aviation Act if the DOT subsequently approves them.
