The Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) evaluates hospitality education programs in the United States. The ACPHA was established in 1989 and consists of 14 commissioners, including hospitality educators, executives from the lodging, restaurant and hospitality industries, as well as member representatives from the travel industry. The Commission meets twice a year to review, assess and evaluate four-year hospitality programs at colleges and universities across the United States.

The Institute of Certified Travel Agents (ICTA) maintains information on travel industry employment opportunities as well as lots of advice on working as a successful agent in the travel industry. ICTA was formed in 1964 with the purpose of attaining excellence and professionalism in the travel industry through continuing education. ICTA also established a travel intensive training institute which has helped professionalize thousands of agents. Its graduates are awarded the prestigious designation of Certified Travel Counselor “CTC”.

Originally founded in 1968 as the Greater Independent Association of National Travel Services (GIANTS), Ensemble Travel represents a proactive, owner-involved international organization of 1,200 professional travel agencies in the U.S. and Canada.

The Asia Travel Marketing Association (ATMA) is a major marketing organisation for the promotion of travel and tourism to the Asia region. Previously known as the “East Asia Travel Association, ATMA has for many years provided a world-wide marketing presence for its members within the travel industry and has played a pivotal role in making Asia the hugely popular destination it is today. ATMA ceased operations 30 July 2002.
