UNWTO: Mexico chosen for Executive Council
During the 19th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mexico was unanimously selected for a seat on the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization. As a member of the Executive Council, Mexico will help lead the more than 150 member nations in creating policies that promote investment, employment, and foreign exchange.

Mexico: President Calderon signs National Agenda for Tourism
Mexican President Felipe Calderon last week signed a National Agenda for Tourism. The Agenda is an effort to fully develop the full potential of the tourist industry in Mexico with the goal to grow Mexico into one of the world’s five leading tourist destinations.

Remarable Boost in Tourism
Due to figures published by WTO this February, Central American states have achived an remarkable increase of Tourism. Espescially Panama substantially invested in touristic infrastructure and advertisment for its historical sites, beaches and national parks. Thus in 2004 number of tourists increased by about 20%.
Tourism Minister may Face Charges
A Congressional Committee will determine on April 10 whether to remove immunity from prosecution from Tourism Minister, Oscar Espinosa. Mr Espinosa faces allegations of corruption amounting to 45 million dollars when Mayor of Mexico City.
