The Academy of European Law (ERA) will be holding a conference on the latest developments in European Travel Law in Trier (Germany) on Dec. 5-6, 2013. Egypt: tourism minister sends message to travel industry via YouTube

The Egypt Tourist Authority released a YouTube video of Egyptian Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazou asking the travel industry to help lobby their governments to ease travel advisories and to assist Egypt's tourism recovery, which has been crippled by the country's ongoing political violence and unrest.

EU Commission to hold another stakeholders' conference on the PTD revision

The European Commission will hold a half-day stakeholders' conference on the revision of the Package Travel Directive (90/314/EEC) on 05 June 2012. The conference will take place at Charlemagne, room Jenk –– Rue de la Loi 170 – 1049 Brussels. It will primarily aim at hearing and collecting stakeholders' views on certain key issues related to the revision of the Directive.

UNWTO: Mexico chosen for Executive Council

During the 19th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mexico was unanimously selected for a seat on the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization. As a member of the Executive Council, Mexico will help lead the more than 150 member nations in creating policies that promote investment, employment, and foreign exchange.
