EU Commission to hold another stakeholders' conference on the PTD revision
The European Commission will hold a half-day stakeholders' conference on the revision of the Package Travel Directive (90/314/EEC) on 05 June 2012. The conference will take place at Charlemagne, room Jenk –– Rue de la Loi 170 – 1049 Brussels. It will primarily aim at hearing and collecting stakeholders' views on certain key issues related to the revision of the Directive.
IHRB roundtable on Tourism Industry and Human Rights in London

UNWTO: Mexico chosen for Executive Council
During the 19th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mexico was unanimously selected for a seat on the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization. As a member of the Executive Council, Mexico will help lead the more than 150 member nations in creating policies that promote investment, employment, and foreign exchange. On the occasion of World Tourism Day on September 27, 2011, the Seychelles Tourism Board in partnership with the GOS-UNDP-GEF Program Coordination Unit has officially launched the Seychelles Sustainable Tourism Label with the unveiling of the label’s logo.
World Travel & Tourism Council addresses governments on World Tourism Day
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) on the occasion of World Tourism Day on Sep. 27 urged governments to recognize the vast economic and social contribution of travel and tourism - particularly as a driver of sustainable economic growth and revival. The World Travel & Tourism Council was formed over 20 years ago by the heads of some of the largest private travel and tourism companies in the world to ensure that governments, the media, and the society understood the enormous economic and social contribution of travel and tourism.
